We understand that there is a lack of healthy extra-curricular programming available right now for kids in Victoria area communities like Saanich, Oak Bay, Langford, Sooke, View Royal, etc. WEA's outdoor activity program is designed to give kids exercise, expose them to the outdoors and give them much needed time to socialize with their peers for a few hours each week with optional full-day weekend events. Activities may include things like trail running, mountain biking, running games, snowshoeing, geocaching, archery, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking & more! Optional full-day weekend programs are available occasionally.

In Victoria, we offer outdoor activities that service the entire Capital Regional District. The program is based out of Thetis Lake, meeting at the main beach bathrooms. Some activities may run out of Saanich, Langford, Sooke, View Royal, The highlands, Colwood & Central Saanich. We utilize parks and outdoor spaces such as Mount Doug, Thetis Lake, Gowland Todd, Elk Lake, Sea-to-Sea Regional Park (Mount Quimper), Sooke Potholes and several Langford city parks. Victoria programs are 2 hours long on weekdays with the occasional full-day outdoor activities on weekends, perfect for after school or local Victoria homeschool groups.
Daily weekend programs vary and details will be emailed directly to families participating in the program.

Each day we will meet on go for a trail run, play forest games and more!
Above all, our one-of-a-kind outdoor after school care program is more fun than you can imagine! Youth get to experience many different types of activities in amazing outdoor environments! Instead of staying inside every day after school, children get to explore and experience unique natural areas featuring lakes, streams, fields, forests, beaches, fire pits, cooking shelters, archery ranges and many other ammenities! Participants learn about nature, camping skills, leadership and more. The best parts - they don’t even realize they are learning and they are staying active!
Modern youth do not get very many opportunities to learn life skills including how to lead others, manage conflict and think for themselves. Western Education Adventure’s after school outdoor program focuses on these skills and other life skills.
The name of the game is to keep children & youth learning, active, occupied, engaged and having fun. Activities vary depending on the weather, group and on the main focus of the program that day. The types of activities we typically run during our weekly activity program includes:
• Leadership • Decision Making • Conflict Management • Group Management • Route Planning • Nature Identification • Nature Appreciation • Navigation • Swimming • Camping Practices • Cooking • Fire building • Knife and Stove Safety
Western Educational Adventures takes safety seriously. Not only do we want our participants to have an exceptional time, but just as importantly, we want them to return home safe and sound. All of Western Educational Adventures staff are certified in high level first aid and have years of experience managing risk in the outdoors. You won’t find a more qualified staff team anywhere else!
